Art and painting is something that has always been within my family. My Grandad was a freehand
sign-writer and my dad an architectural plan drawer (before CAD came along that is and squished the art-form!). I grew up watching my dad decorate from as young as I can remember. Right from the beginning it was drummed into me the importance of having pride in the work you create. Everything you do isn't 'just another job', it's a stepping stone to your next, so I make sure to adhere to the mentality of, 'you're only as good as your last job'. Having picked up a wide range of skills from a young age, I went on to pursue another passion of mine, photography.
I studied Art Photography at both Diploma and Degree level, whilst using my trade skills to help fund things as I went. Over the next few years I found myself leaning on my photography more and more to not only pay the bills, but to be my hobby also - something which after a while just didn't tick, and was making me neglect my passion for decorating. Something had to change, so I decided to run both alongside each-other. Decorating became my main operating business, which then enabled me to pick my photo projects as I saw fit. This is where I find myself now, and I couldn't be happier! - Callum MacDonald
Interior / exterior
Whether it's a full re-vamp indoors, or just a lick of paint to lift the front of the house, both areas are accommodated for.
Undoubtedly THE most important aspect of any decorating project. Paint won't even be in eyeshot of a wall till all surfaces are fully checked and appropriately prepped. Cracks, bumps, scrapes, dodgy-filled screw-holes...it can all be taken care of.
Wallpaper stripping...a job a hated by so many, yet loved by so few. Luckily for you, I lean towards the latter, so can take care of the task so you don't have to.
Something had a few too many coats of paint? No problem. Via the use of a number of safe methods, the paint can be removed to reveal what's been hidden for all those years.
Looking for that factory finish on your new units, or perhaps you have some detailed plasterwork or a fireplace that could do with a spruce-up? A brush is no good in these situations, but my professional hvlp spray system most certainly is.
Have a persistent stain on the ceiling from when the bath overflowed a few years back? Or perhaps things are looking a bit drab due to too much smoke or nicotine? I'll make sure it's gone for good and back to looking like new.
Any scale of works
Can't decide whether you want just the front door re-painted or all 52 rooms? That's fine! Each and every job is treated with the same attention to detail and care - irrespective of scale.
