Hook is a quiet residential village set between Warsash and Titchfield, close to the Solent shore and the Hook-with-Warsash Nature Reserve. It is characterised by a mix of well-appointed family homes, older village properties and some more substantial detached houses, many of which have been significantly extended and improved by their owners.

Paintology works regularly across Hook and the Warsash area, and the coastal proximity here — as with all our waterside projects — informs our approach to surface preparation and product specification. Salt air and variable coastal conditions require materials and methods that are specifically suited to the environment.

We dedicate approximately 70% of every project to preparation: assessing every surface carefully, treating any areas of moisture ingress or salt damage, and applying primers and topcoats that perform reliably in coastal conditions. Teknos and Tikkurila both produce excellent product ranges for exposed environments, and these feature regularly in our Hook project specifications.

For interior work in Hook, our approach is equally rigorous. Every surface is prepared properly, every junction caulked, every area of staining or previous paint failure treated before any new finish is applied.
