Decorator meon valley
Specialist decorating for the Meon Valley’s exceptional rural and period properties
The Meon Valley is widely regarded as one of Hampshire’s most beautiful and sought-after rural areas — a collection of villages including Meonstoke, Exton, Droxford, Corhampton, Soberton and East Meon, set within the South Downs National Park. Properties here range from Norman-era farmhouses and mill houses to converted barns and substantial modern country homes, with average detached property prices well above £1 million in many of the valley’s most desirable villages.
Working in the Meon Valley requires a decorator with genuine experience of rural and period property. Many of the homes here have lime plaster walls, exposed flint, timber frames and other historic fabric that demands specialist preparation knowledge. Paintology works regularly across the valley and approaches every project with the care these exceptional buildings deserve.
Preparation accounts for approximately 70% of every project we undertake in the Meon Valley. That means properly assessing what lies beneath the existing surface, choosing the right filling and priming approach for the substrate, and specifying topcoats that are sympathetic to the building’s character. For historic properties within the South Downs National Park, we typically specify breathable, low-VOC finishes that allow the building fabric to function as intended.
We draw on a range of premium products — Benjamin Moore, Tikkurila, Teknos — specifying each according to the demands of the individual project. We never use subcontractors, and we carry full public liability insurance to £1 million.
